Our new baby...

Being persistent and consistent...
pays off.
We have been trying to teach Brady that God made him. Over and over, we keep asking him " Brady, who made you?" and for the longest time he kept looking at us like we were crazy. So, lately I have been asking him a little more, just trying to impress it in his little head and heart, and today he finally answered my question with " GOD". I was so excited that he actually said God and replied correctly to my question. I am constantly amazed at his little mind and what he really can understand and grasp. Maybe he does get more then we think??

Brady attempts to feed himself...
Lately Brady has been extremely interested in holding the spoon and fork. So, letting go of my neat freak side, I decided to let Brady start feeding himself. So, I put some yogurt in a bowl and let him go to town! The whole time he had a " I can't believe I am doing this" look. :) I was pretty much laughing the whole time and knew I just had to have the camera out for this!! Overall, he did pretty well. About half actually got in his mouth, and the other half ended up in his left hand:) And when I took it away, he kept saying "mo, mo, mo" about 50 times in a row. I sometimes think he is just like Tommy and has a bottomless stomach because as Uncle Zach says "he crushes food"!!:)

I put a little cereal in his yogurt to see what he would do, and he was concentrating sooo hard to try to get each piece out with a spoon. It was pretty funny!!

Thanks mom for a little independence!! :)

Giants Game!
On Friday night, we visited our old neck of the woods...San Francisco.
Ok, so I got a little sad remembering all the fun times we had there, until I started thinking about parking, crazy cold temperatures in August, and hiking up 3 flights of stairs.
I am now grateful to just be a visitor of San Fran, not a resident:)
My family was blessed to get a luxury box (Thanks Amendolas!!) for the game. It was so much fun!!! We had great food, great seats (right behind home plate), and there was even a little kids corner for Brady to get out all his energy!
We got to bring our good friends Jaimie, Reuben, and their daughter Karis, Marcus and Jenny

Uncle Colin and Brady were twins!

Mimi, Brady, and Great Grandma Gigi

Gotta love kids corner!

Catch Brady!!!

Maybe someday Brady, maybe someday

Attacked by aunt kk. :)

And I must add that this was the first time Brady called my mom "Mimi", my dad "Papa" and my brother "Col-Col" all to their faces. Such a fun time now that Brady is talking so much more and actually associating names and faces. I just love watching him learn. Sorry Beish and Kakes, he's still working on your names:)

Johnny and Courtney's Wedding
We flew on Saturday to Temecula for Courtney, Tommy's cousin, and Johnny's wedding.
The darling flower girls. Ella and Halle

Courtney and her dad

How do you keep a 15 month old entertained and quite during the ceremony? Let him brush his
teeth!!!

Brady wanting to knock over his cousin, Robert.

Caysen, Brady, and Robert. Cousins.

Calvin and Caysen, Shane and Robert, Tommy and Brady.

Beautiful location for a wedding!

On Saturday night we stayed with our friends who live in Temecula, Mark and Kari McElroy. Their daughter, Kelsey, and Brady are 3 months apart.

AND THEN, on Sunday, Tommy turned 26!!! He and his cousin, Holly, share a birthday so we went to her parents house and they had a big bar-b-que/pool party for them. Such a fun day!!

Brady in the pool with nana. I've decided he could probably live in water.

Played a little pool volleyball.

In the sandbox. About to say water:)

Still in the sandbox. And happy.

What's that I'm allergic to???
Gluten.
I've never had any major health issues before. Until recently.
I've been having shortness of breath, severe heart palpitations, fatigue, weight loss, anemia, and the list goes on. With a trip to the E.R., vital signs monitored, EKG completed, and a chest x-ray, I was left with no answers. So, I was put on some medication that really was not working. I began really paying attention to what I was eating. The two nights I had the worst "attacks", I ate a large amount of pasta. So I began putting the pieces together. Tommy's dad suggested to me that I may be allergic to gluten.
Ever since I've cut gluten out of my diet, I have felt better than normal. I have way more energy and no weird heart issues or shortness of breath.
I actually forgot (it hasn't become completely normal to me yet) one night and ate a ton of wheat crackers, and woke up at 3 in the morning with severe abdominal pain. So weird. But I am glad I "forgot" and challenged the wheat.
Then I was good for a few days, and forgot again. I ate a brownie for dessert and a few hours later, same abdominal pain.
However, I have had a couple of Brady's whole grain goldfish snacks and have felt fine. So, I've concluded that large amounts are what affect me.
I'm a little bummed because I am pretty sure I love everything that has gluten in it. But, now, not enough to keep feeling the way I have been.
