Christmas 2010

We had a lovely Christmas. Very low key and very fun. We stayed here in Ukiah and spent Christmas with Tommy's family. Since we weren't going to spend Christmas Eve in our own home, we did our own little traditions the night before. Tommy and Brady cooked a yummy breakfast for dinner, we finished reading the little books in our advent calendar, and opened one gift. Actually Brady opened one gift:) We got him his own set of "outdoor tools" {side note, we just purchased 6 acres of hill land here in Ukiah to eventually build a home on} since Tommy and Brady LOVE to work outside on our "new land". He loved them.
Christmas Eve we had dinner with Tommy's parents up at their house and then went to a candle light service at their church. After the service we came back and each of us got to open one gift and have some yummy dessert.
And then on Christmas day, we woke Brady up at 8:30 {I know...8:30 on Christmas?}...he must still not get the whole present thing;) We are blessed by my god parents who sent us and the kids some great gifts. So,we opened those as well as a gift from cousin A.J. to Brady. And then mimi and papa doc got Brady a pedal John Deere tractor. He LOVES it, and that's an understatement. So much fun to see so much joy from our little man.
After a morning of fun, we went up to Tommy's parents for a late breakfast and gift opening. It was POURING here, so it was so nice just to cozy up by the fire all. day.
ANd for dinner we headed up the hill to Uncle Jay and Auntie Kristi's house. We enjoyed fun family time, delicious food, and fun cousin gift exchange time. Really fun.
Above all, we tried to hammer home Jesus's birth. And that we open gifts to celebrate His birth. In our feeble attempt, we hope and pray he gets it.
What a wonderful Christmas. We are so so so blessed. ANd looking forward to a wonderful New Year celebration week with my family!

Two peas in a pod. Making yummy breakfast for dinner.

Reading our last "book" on our advent calendar. Jesus's birth.

I really really love this picture. It was so sweet. We started to set it up and he just wanted to stare at Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus. Along with pushing the angel on top which sings away in a manger. I will for sure have that song stuck in my head for the next month:)

Opening his own shovel, leaf rake, and dirt rake.

On their way to work in the dirt on our new land:)

Love these two.

His very own {toy} chainsaw. He was in tool heaven.

And all by his sweet self, he attempted to cut down the Christmas tree...

Daddy's turn for his Christmas gift...

it's a...

chainsaw! Just like Brady's {only it's the real thing}:). This chainsaw has been on his wish list for a long time:)

Christmas Eve.

Chirstmas morning. On his very own John deere tractor. Still in disbelief. Thanks mimi and papa doc.

Hanging out by the fire with my sweet Kinley.

love.

And my sweet big Brady boy.

These are only 3 of the 5 toy tractors Brady got. Everyone knew just what to get him:)

Brady got a new baseball glove and baseballs from cousin Beau.

And my niece Jayden snuggling with miss Kinley.

What a sweet fabulous Christmas.

Brady:: potty training and leaves

Well...I think it's safe to say mr man is actually potty trained. After 2 weeks of hardly leaving our house, he actually gets it. Dry pull up at night and after nap. Amazing. Totally goes on his own now. And usually doesn't tell me. I really didn't do to much but I did remind him a lot the first week, as I gave him a lot to drink. And with a total of 5 accidents in the first couple days, he hasn't had one since. We are oh so proud of him. And really nice for us. I was SO over changing his diaper.
And a little side note, he has relished every minute outside because we have been inside so much due to potty training. So today, he wanted to "scoop" the leaves with his John Deere tractors. I love his love for the outdoors. It's pretty sweet. And totally boy.

This was his attire pretty much the whole first week of potty training. I let him wear pants the second week:)

Kinley:: 3 Months

Our little miss is 3 months old today. She is still just as sweet. Tommy's comment last night, "I really think she is part angel." Agreed. She sleeps straight from 10:00 to 7:00. Heavenly.
Still a great eater. And she loves to suck on her whole hand. And will occasionally gag herself. :)
Brady is super good with her. Actually he pretty much leaves her alone. And I catch him saying to her, "Hi Kinley flower." Don't know how he came up with that but it's cute. And his latest is, "Hi Kinley grill (supposed to be girl but comes out sounding like grill)".
I love all stages of having a baby. However if I had to pick one stage that is at the bottom of my favorites, it would have to be the newborn stage, 0-3 month age. Yes it's sweet that they sleep all the time, but it's also so draining for me to get up during the night and deal with a toddler the next day. So, selfishly, it has been nice lately feeling like Kinley is out of the "newborn" stage. But I am thankful for all stages:)
Here are some fun pictures of our smiley 3 month old:)

Church Play

This weekend our church had a Christmas play and holiday bazaar. The program was the Christmas story played out by all the kids at church.
Mr. Brady, and his two friends, were the sheep. Who just sat there. Kinda hard for 2 and a half year olds to do...but they did great. And were hilarious. What is it about plays and little kids?? To funny.

three blue eyed sheep. :)

Yep he was over the hat.

Little Buddies

We have some new friends who moved to Ukiah this past summer, Jon and Elissa. When we met, Elissa and I were both pregnant and due 4 days apart. September 13 at 8:19 I had Kinley. September 14 at 1 a.m. Elissa gave birth to their daughter Isla.
So, Kinley and her first little friend, Isla, are less than 24 hours apart. So fun. God is so gracious to give us healthy and adorable little girls. We are thankful.
Here are some pics of the girls. To cute.

Brady wanted in on some pictures as well. :)
