Uncle John and Brock Visit

This past weekend, Tommy's older brother John, and his youngest son, Brock, flew from Texas to visit us for the weekend! It was really fun to see them and to have Brady and Brock enjoy playing together was so great. We enjoyed an evening at the lake and a fun family Saturday hanging out. Visitors are welcome anytime! We love it!!!

Brock and Brady. At the lake.

Boys will be boys. Just give them a stick and some dirt.

Uncle John and Nana with Brady.

Brady wanted to inner tube again. He really loves it. He kept saying, "Go faster Papa!!"

Being a good helper and holding up the flag while daddy and Uncle John water skied.

Brothers. Can you tell??

Brock wanted to read Brady his bedtime story. Brady loved it. Clearly.

Saturday morning breakfast up at Nana and Papa's house. Got the eggs for the day from the chicken house!

Brady and Brock helping Nana make banana and blueberry pancakes. Yum!

Brady, Nana, Brock, Papa, and the new puppy, Annie. Sooo cute!!!

Nana picked blackberries and then made a fresh blackberry pie for dessert on Saturday night. So so delicious!

Fun Saturday...

We are blessed to live 10 minutes away from a beautiful lake. Tommy's parents have a boat so today we decided to take it out. Tommy's parents, us, and our good friends the Jacobsens spent the late morning/early afternoon at the lake. We enjoyed a picnic lunch, a little tubing, and a lot of sun. :)

The kiddos. Addie, Brady, and Karis.

Little hams. Karis and Brady.

Reuben and Addie on the inner tube!!

Brady and Daddy. Brady was watching Addie on the inner tube...very intrigued:)

So intrigued that he actually wanted to try it with daddy. I was shocked.

But he had a blast

Little man about to jump in the lake to cool down one last time.

Addie and Brady. Two peas in a pod.

Then on Saturday night, we went to the Redwood Empire Fair, held here in Ukiah. We met up with the Jacobsens there and let the kid see all the animals, sit on some tractors, ride some rides, and eat plenty of junk food (it only happens once a year, right?).

"That's a BIG pig!!!"

I would call this Brady heaven.

Addie and Brady. So. Cute.

Riding on the "choo choo" ride together.

And they met Smokey the bear.

Proof how yummy the corn dogs were:)

Car ride.

Watching the poor lambs being auctioned off...

And to conclude the night, we watched the truck pull. Let's just say Tommy and Brady enjoyed this event way more then I did:)

Fun family and friend Saturday.

Tommy turns 27!!!

Upon request, Tommy wanted a low key birthday this year. So, we had a family barbecue up at his parents house on Sunday night, the night before his birthday. I asked him what he really wanted to do for his actual birthday on Monday. He originally said, " Lets just do dinner and a movie." But I knew he was just saying that because that is what I would enjoy. So I asked him again what HE wanted to do...and he was quick to reply with a smile, "Go golfing with you."
So that's just what we did. Except I didn't golf. I drove the cart:) Such a pregnant thing to do, I know.
Anyways, we had a blast. And I secretly enjoyed being on the course:) It was a fun day celebrating the greatest husband and dad. So so thankful for him.:)

Enjoying the pool a lot. It was hot!!

The boys love papa and nana's house. It's like a park!!! Brady watching Beau swinging:)

Beau, Tommy, Jay, and Brady.

Brady and Daddy. Brady loved wearing Daddy's new birthday present from us. A San Francisco Giants Titlest hat. Explains my husband pretty well:)

"Happy Birthday to Daddy!!!" His favorite cake...homemade mint chocolate chip ice-cream cake

He is very into wanting to help these days.

Caught Brady in a laughing/hyper mood. Got the camera out for these great smiles...:)

Love this kid.

And here we are on our golf date. Couldn't find anyone to take a picture so we set the camera on the ground. Hence the not so good picture:) Fun night.

Brady's moves to a big boy bed

Last night we moved Brady into his new room with his big boy bed. We are so so thankful for all the furniture my aunt gave us for Brady's new room and the new mattress from Tommy's mom and dad. The whole day on Saturday we explained to him that he would be sleeping in his new room that night and we gave him guidelines, which we went over and over and over many times. Number One: No standing or jumping on the bed (that was his speciality in the crib..he jumped for an hour straight during one nap). Number Two: No playing with the window that is next to the bed. Number Three: Do not get out of the bed. If you need something, yell for Mommy or Daddy.
First night: success. Not a peep from him after we put him down. In the morning I went to check on him at 7:20. He had just woken up. Laying there still but awake.
We are thankful for an adaptable kid.
