Healthy Baby & 5 months

We had our ultrasound today and got to see all of the little baby. I am still amazed that there is a human being living inside me. Really. God is so so good. Everything looked normal and healthy, which we are so thankful for. He/she was moving around like crazy! What is even crazier to me is that I can see the baby move it's arm and then actually feel it at the same time!
When it came time for the doctor to inspect the gender parts, he asked us to turn our heads. It was so hard. I wanted to look and see if I could actually read the ultrasound, but I stayed true to our promise that we aren't going to find out, and didn't look. But it was way harder then I thought it would be. Especially when the doctor said he knew something we didn't. I guess I can wait another 4 months or so:)
I'm not sure how you really say how pregnant you are so I am due on the 21st of September, which means I am 5 months today, or when counting weeks, I am 23 weeks. Either way, I have been feeling great. Both the baby and I are in the average range as far as weight, compared to my pregnancy with Brady, which we were both above average, considering Brady weighed 8 lbs and 8 oz. Very comforting:) He thinks this baby will be average weight, based on statistics. We shall see. I have had a serious sweet tooth though. Like weird sweets. Root beer floats, sour patch kids, and chocolate shakes...weird I know.
Tommy and I enjoyed seeing our little baby moving around, yawning, sucking, moving it's little hands around, punch me with it's elbow, and just seeing all it's little parts developed. We are amazed at the miracle of life. And so thankful that the Lord has entrusted this new little one to us. We can't wait to meet him/her!!:)
Here are some pictures of the baby from the ultrasound appointment today:

Here is "it's" back facing forward with it's shoulder and arm up.

Little foot.

This one is kinda hard to see, but it is "it's" face looking directly forward, with it's hand by it's chin.

Profile view.

And here I am at 5 months, or 23 weeks. :)

We love visitors!

This past weekend, my little brother Colin, better known to Brady as Col-Col, came to Ukiah to visit for a few days. We haven't seen him since Christmas, so it was great to spend some time together. Brady just LOVED having him around. And i'll be honest, it is really nice to have an extra pair of hands to help out during the day:)We enjoyed taking him to a couple of our favorite restaurants here, watched a few movies, played with Brady at the park, and most important, we were able to watch LOST together. Which we are both really into. So fun!

Pretty much healed Brady...

doing one his favorite things. going down the slide.

Thanks for playing with me all morning Col-Col!

They had a blast together.

Come back soon Uncle Col-Col!!!!!

Brady's Little Accident

Mr. Brady had a little accident at Papa's house yesterday. They play together outside for literally 3 hours every time he goes up there and Brady just took a bad fall right on the gravel, and landed on his face. The results were a pretty bad scratched face and a chipped tooth. We were thankful it was nothing more serious.
Brady didn't seem to mind or care one bit that his tooth was chipped or that his face was so scratched up. So, it definitely affected mommy and daddy more. Way more. These are the times when we are very thankful daddy is a dentist. We prepped Brady by telling him that daddy was going to fix his tooth and that he would get a special treasure when he is all done. He seemed to understand pretty well.
Tommy, Tommy's assistant Debbie, and I went into the office this morning. My job was to hold Brady down while knee to knee with Tommy. I had no idea how hard that would be. It was a VERY stressful 4 minutes. Tommy did a fantastic job, despite the screaming, wiggly, and crying child. I was very impressed.
When we were all done, Brady got to pick out a toy in the toy box. He picked a soccer ball, a rocket, and a little car. He seemed to forget the whole experience once he had those toys.
Brady is seriously an active boy. I am so so surprised this has not happened sooner. Tommy's mom told me that when Tommy was a toddler, he ALWAYS has a bruise, scratch, or a scar on him. Along with several ER visits. Like father like son. Right?
Here are a couple of pictures of before and after. The second one may look like we seriously abuse our child. We dont. :) He just took a serious fall, and this is to prove it!!

Face still scratched but happy that daddy was my hero and fixed my tooth:)

My birthday & My boys

I love birthdays. I always have. There is definitely a different "feel" to birthdays once you have kids. Don't get me wrong, not bad just different. Instead of doing just as I please, there are still diapers to be changed, toys to be picked up, and all the normal happenings with a 2 year old.
I turned 26 on Wednesday. And it actually was a pretty great day. My sister-in-law, Kristi, took me and Brady to a great breakfast place here called Ellies. Brady was so great and let us enjoy a hour and a half breakfast with not to much distraction. Then we went to Tommy's office and took him lunch. The office ladies were so kind and gave me a beautiful orchid. My favorite. Brady loves to play at daddy and papa's office because there is a river that runs along side of the office building and he loves to throw rocks in the river. So we played there for a little while. Then for lunch, my good friend Jaimie offered to take me out. And her husband was willing to watch the kiddos. So great. We got to enjoy a yummy lunch at our local bakery, Schat's. Then, of course, the welcomed nap time for the little man. And for dinner, Tommy took me out to the greatest sushi place here, Oco time. Really, so good. I had one request, a very pregnant request, for my birthday. I wanted to have a icecream cake from Baskin Robbins. So after dinner we went and picked it up. And then Tommy and Brady sang to me and Brady got to blow out the candle. What a great. perfect. day.

Hmmm, am I allowed to taste it?

Love this boy.

His blowing out candles technique has improved since his birthday...

He actually blew it out this time:)

And today we got to have daddy home for a extra long lunch. He played the whole time outside with Brady. These two really are 2 peas in a pod. So.much.alike.

Getting a way overdue dose of Vitamin D.

Oh the quad...

Who me???

Daddy wanted to see if Brady could do some pull ups. With help of course:)

Almost there...

Good job Brady boy!

The life of the pluggie....

has come to an end.

We decided that it was time for Brady to give up his beloved pluggie(I don't know how it got that name but it's the name that's stuck). He only used it for nap time and bed time, but he was growing quite fond of the little plastic and rubber thing. We didn't want him to get any more attached, so we snipped the tip! I was very nervous about how this was going to turn out. I pictured sleepless nights, no nap times, and my quiet time officially over. However the little man proved us wrong. He did great. We very gently explained to him that his pluggie was broken. So we would give it to him "broken". He didn't even like to put it in his mouth! I was shocked. He continues to remind us that it is "broken", and on the first night when he had it he said to me, "pluggie broken. Mommy fix it?" Sorry buddy.
Anyways, it's been a pleasant transition without his little soother. And we are VERY thankful for that.
I found some old pictures of Brady with his pluggie. Here they are...just to remember the beloved pluggie:)

I love this picture. A great reminder of our life in San Francisco. We resorted to the pluggie often for our sanity in restaurants. As well as the bjorn. :)

And of course on airplanes. Especially at 6 in the morning.

And for our sanity again. On family road trips.

Brady's Gymnastics

Thursdays are great days in our house. In the morning, I take Brady to "Brady's Gym". And after Gym, Brady gets to spend the whole day with Papa at "Papa's house", which is definitely the highlight of his week.
He loves gym. A lot. And is so excited when I tell him we are going there. We've been going for several months now, but today I decided to take my camera and get some pictures of the little man in action. At the end of class, they do "superstar", where each child is called up to the mat and everyone claps for them, and the teacher says each child's name and that they are a superstar. My son might just live for this. He LOVES IT. So I thought I would record his priceless expression when he goes up on the mat. Of course, I pressed the wrong button to record. So that will have to be next time. But here are some pictures of our morning.

It's neat to watch his progress on the course. He used to not be able to walk across the beam and now he can without holding on. Although, I think he prefers to hold on.

LOVES the trampoline. He's becoming quite the jumper.

Of course. Always playing with the balls.

He likes to throw the beanbags in the "hoop".

Summersault time! Good job baby

Oh so proud of himself:)
